The sun was shining, the coffee flowing and the bacon butties in abundance as ninety golfers teed off at Pavenham Park Golf Club’s challenging 72 par, 18 hole, 6467 yard parkland course which is set in the heart of rural Bedfordshire. The event was the inaugural Box & Charnock charity golf day which raised a very impressive £10k for the company’s chosen charity, The Alzheimer’s Society.
The day was made even more memorable with the launch of the Box & Charnock Foundation, a new registered charity which has been set up by directors Jason Benson and Steven Box to raise funds for local good causes.
On launching the Foundation, Jason Benson said “We are delighted to be in a position to lend our support to the local community and we see the golf day as the first of many fundraising events that we intend to hold throughout the year. Although we have been raising funds for various causes for some time, the move to set up the Foundation was a decision that puts our efforts on a more formal basis whilst highlighting our commitment to philanthropy.”
“As an in augural event, we have been hugely encouraged by the support from our trade partners and would like to thank everyone who made the effort to join us and make the day such a resounding success,” said Steve Box.
