Jone Da Cruz, a Box & Charnock apprentice plumber who is based at the Berkeley Homes site at Woodberry Down appeared across pages 66 and 67 of the Metro newspaper today in a double page feature on how the ongoing regeneration will create 400,000 new homes in the Capital by 2025 and provide much needed jobs and education for London’s young people.
Jone came to the UK from Portugal and initially worked as a gas engineer but found his options were limited. After joining a Box & Charnock as an apprentice 18 months ago, Jone feels he is on the right career path and is optimistic about future possibilities.
“I go to college one day a week and now have maths and English qualifications. In the future I can go to University or do another course if I want to but with an apprenticeship I will always have a trade to fall back on, says Jone.
