Joan Da Cruz, who joined Box & Charnock 18 months ago as an apprentice plumber, has every reason to smile…..
After joining Box & Charnock via Berkeley Homes’ local training agreements, Joan has been on site learning his trade at Woodberry Down, an innovative regeneration project which will provide 5000 new homes in a 64 acre development adjacent to Finsbury Park in north London. We are on site with a resident project management team providing a full mechanical and public health installation.
With his apprenticeship now complete, Joan has moved on to further his career with us as a NVQ2 plumber but not before he joined the directors of Berkley Homes at a special topping out ceremony to mark the successful completion of the structural aspect of their flagship 30 storey tower. The event also celebrated how the regeneration of an area can develop jobs and critical apprenticeships for those seeking to develop a career.
The picture was taken at the top of the tower where Joan was presented with a framed copy of a recent double page spread in the Metro newspaper in which he appeared. The feature highlighted how ongoing regeneration will create 400,000 new homes in the Capital by 2025 and provide much needed jobs and education for London’s young people.
